Disability Insurance insures the beneficiary’s earned income in the event of an injury that reduces or eliminates their work income. For example, the worker may suffer from a mental disorder, injury, or illness that causes mental or physical impairment or inability to work. It encompasses paid sick leave, short-term disability benefits (STD), and long-term disability benefits (LTD).
