Sometimes we have agents who decide to leave to go direct with a carrier and it turns out the grass isn’t always greener. Companies promise leads, lists and better opportunities, but don’t always fulfill those promises. One of our Marketing Specialists received this email from an agent who went direct this AEP and regretted the decision. Of course, we took him back! We love dedicated agents who are focused on growing their business.
“I just wanted you to know that I’m going to fax my contract transfer form to you later Wednesday.
I’ve sold 18 MAPD plans since August, seven of which came from the age-in lead list you sent me. Ten came from my own natural market or referrals, while only one came from the company. “Having gone direct for one season didn’t turn out well for me.
Admittedly, like the choice between med sups & MAPDs, I don’t push one plan over the other but try to educate the client on all facets and answer all questions. I don’t use closing techniques but simply stay with them until they have all the information they need to make a choice. I have sold all 18 people I’ve met with though not necessarily on the first visit.
If you’ve read this far, I know I’m boring you but just wanted to give you an idea of what I’m doing. Would you like to have me back? I’d also like to apologize for leaving you………..geez, this sounds like we broke up dating………but I mean it and regret having left you.
Have a great day.”
