AEP Is Less Than 2 Weeks Away. Are You Ready?

Saturday, October 15 marks the beginning of AEP, when you can begin selling Medicare for Plan Year 2023.

These next two weeks are critical. While you can’t start writing policies until the 15th, you should be marketing them now. You should also take time to prepare, and that’s where we come in. Once again this year we’ve put together guidance and resources to help you make this your best AEP yet.

CMS Call Recording and the New Final Rule

When word came down from CMS that all sales calls are to be recorded starting with this AEP, the reaction from agents ranged from frustration to outright panic. It’s understandable, considering the change requires agents to set up and in some cases learn new technologies.

Our answer to the new rule was to create an all-in-one resource to help you meet the new CMS call recording requirements. It includes information on multiple call recording solutions, videos of webinars, and answers to all of your burning questions about recording calls this AEP.

Compliance Guidance for Handling Applications Received Before October 15

You’re probably already aware of the fact that you cannot submit applications you receive for AEP until October 15, but there’s plenty of detail beyond that, and you need to be aware to stay in compliance.

Click below to download our in-depth FAQ and make sure you manage early applications compliantly this AEP.

Enrollment Central Users: Make Sure You're Up-To-Date

If you use Enrollment Central, NCC’s quoting and enrollment tool for Medicare agents, now is the time to make sure you’re up on the latest changes for Plan Year 2023, including the newly added call recording capabilities.

Agents who are new to Enrollment Central will need to attend a Training webinar. If you’ve used the platform before, you’ll need to attend an Updates webinar. Webinar attendance and a signed attestation are required before you gain access to Enrollment Central’s 2023 portal.

Webinar dates are closing next month, so be sure to sign up if you haven’t attended a session yet this year.

Medicare Needs Assessment

We created our Medicare Needs Assessment form to help you determine a client’s needs and guide them toward the right coverage. Read up on the nuts and bolts of performing an assessment here, then download the form below and gather all the info you need to best serve your clients, including:

  • Current coverage.
  • Additional cost considerations.
  • Prescription needs.
